Switch Service Terms

1. Service Description
The "Switch for me" service ("Service") is offered by Internest Australia Pty Ltd ("Internest", "we", "us"). We act on your behalf to initiate a transfer of your electricity supply from your current retailer to a new retailer, based on the plan you have selected through our comparison engine.
Internest is not an electricity retailer, broker, or energy market participant. We facilitate the switching process only.
2. Switch Authorisation
By checking the "I authorise Internest to act on my behalf" checkbox and completing payment, you grant Internest limited authority to:
(a) Contact the target electricity retailer to initiate the transfer of your supply; and (b) Provide your contact details and supply address to the target retailer for the purpose of completing the transfer.
This authorisation does not constitute a power of attorney. It does not grant Internest any authority beyond the specific actions described above. You may revoke this authorisation at any time by contacting support@internest.com.au.
3. Fees
The Service fee is a one-time fixed payment, determined at checkout:
$29 AUD for estimated annual savings under $500; $49 AUD for estimated annual savings of $500 or more.
Internest does not receive commissions, referral fees, or any payment from electricity retailers. The Service fee is the only charge.
4. Money-back Guarantee
Layer 1 (Immediate)
If our algorithm, based on your provided usage data, cannot find a plan with a lower estimated annual cost than your current plan, we do not charge you.
Layer 2 (Post-switch)
If, after the switch is completed and your first full billing cycle (minimum 60 days) shows a higher average daily cost than the counterfactual bill calculation, we will issue a full refund of the Service fee.
Counterfactual Calculation
old_plan_hypothetical = (old_rates x actual_usage_new_period) + old_daily_supply_charge x billing_days
new_plan_actual = actual_bill_amount
refund_trigger = new_plan_actual > old_plan_hypothetical
Exclusions
The guarantee does not apply where: (a) your electricity usage increased by more than 30% compared to the usage data provided at the time of switching; (b) the difference is attributable to one-off fees, connection charges, or government levies; (c) the new retailer changed their rates after the switch was completed; or (d) you cancelled the new plan within the first billing cycle.

This guarantee does not exclude, limit, or modify any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees as to acceptable quality of goods and services.
5. Cooling-off Period
Under the National Energy Customer Framework (NECF), section 48 of the National Energy Retail Law, you have the right to withdraw from a new energy contract within 10 business days of receiving confirmation of the contract from the new retailer. This cooling-off right is separate from and in addition to any rights under the Internest money-back guarantee.
6. Limitations
Internest facilitates the switch but does not guarantee: (a) the timeline for completion (typically 1-3 business days, but determined by the retailers); (b) that the new retailer will accept your application; or (c) continuity of any discounts, rebates, or concessions you currently receive.
All estimated savings are based on your provided usage data and current published rates. Actual savings may vary based on your actual consumption patterns and future rate changes.
7. Personal Information
We collect your name, email, phone number, supply address, and account details solely for the purpose of facilitating the switch. This information is shared only with the target electricity retailer for the purpose of completing the transfer. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
